Q&A WITH KATELYN C. WALKER
Describe your approach to a case. (Do you take a more aggressive approach? Do prefer peaceful mediation?)
I understand that legal matters involving families can be overwhelming. Divorce, custody disputes, support issues, and other family law proceedings are both personal and emotionally challenging experiences. My goal is to help clients navigate these difficult circumstances with clarity, confidence, and a realistic understanding of their options.
Every client and every family is different, and I take the time to understand not only the legal issues involved, but also the individual circumstances, concerns, and goals that make each case unique. I strive to communicate clearly and consistently so that my clients understand what is happening, what to expect, and what choices are available to them throughout the process.
Family law matters can be complicated, but clients should not have to navigate them without guidance. I believe my role is not simply to advocate for my clients, but also to provide perspective and help them make informed decisions. I work to identify what truly matters, explain the potential risks and benefits of different approaches, and develop a strategy that is both thoughtful and effective.
Describe your strengths as it pertains to your Practice Area.
I particularly enjoy the analytical side of family law.
I enjoy research (case and statutory law), navigating complex legal issues, developing arguments, and anticipating potential challenges.
I enjoy writing and drafting arguments, briefs, declarations, etc.
Creative solutions to complex legal problems: I bring creative problem-solving approach to my work. When a straightforward solution is not available, I look for thoughtful and practical alternatives that can help move a case toward a favorable resolution. I do extensive research on cases and determine how best to approach each issue.
What do you do on the weekends, time off, leisure time?
I like to travel, most recently abroad.
I enjoy cooking and baking.
Trying new restaurants, finding bakeries and coffee shops to try.
